How life conspired to get me some new friends

My Thursdays have always been for friends. When I quit work in favor of Xan, I attended Book Club at church. When he got too big to be reasonably managed without childcare, I started having lunch with 2-3 girlfriends and their kids. last spring, we changed that luncheon to Friday in favor of one of the kids going to Mother's Day Out. Then, I heard through the grapevine that childcare is available at Book Club. I went 3x, only to discover that the "childcare" was more a wish than a reality. I was disappointed, certainly, to miss the fellowship, but somehow I was less disappointed than I expected myself to be.

1 week later, I found myself at a long-anticipated Charlotte Mason homeschool conferance. It was exhilarating. I described it to anyone who asked as my harbinger event into the world of homeschool; support groups, co-ops, fellowship, and any and all active, local things homeschool. Once there, I was invited to join LARHE (Longview Area Relaxed Home Educators), a group who meets at the park guessed it - Thursdays! Some of them use sign language, some crochet, many use Charlotte Mason, most are Christian. I doubt it could get much better!

Exactly one week after that, it is revealed that 2 of my longest, dearest friends are planning on moving, in the relatively near future, to Colorado and Washington state. While I'm desperately sad about this, I see God's hand in EVERY step. My dear, sweet friends may leave, but it is just a change of season. Now, I will have a chance to develop new dear, sweet friends to help me on my journey of homeschooling, parenting, marriage, crochet, name it.

God is in control, and His plan is perfect.
