well, I woke up this morning and am still waiting for it to sink in...my toddler is 2. he walk, talks, uses the toilet, expresses his mind, and knows his numbers and letters. of course, that just scratches the surface.

I've liked this last year a lot. much better than the first. he might be a little hardhead, but I know that he is lots more. He is compassionate, intelligent, reflective, meticulous, organized, and ingenuitive. curious, like EVERY toddler, of course, but usually in a good way. I like that he hs grown to be affectionate, as he never was as a baby. mama was just a means to an end. now, mama is someone to voluntarily tells stories to, or to run to for a hug. he wants to show me what he learns and does. he wants to dance with me, read with me, cook with me, walk with me, learn with me and play with me.

Xan is so much more than the tiny baby who crashed into this world 2 years ago. when I look forward to more children, I think of how old Xan will be...4? 5? what will he be doing then? karate? gymnastics? piano? drums? art classes? more languages? multiplication? charlie and the chocolate factory? I don't know for sure, but if things keep going as they are, it's going to be a wild ride, and it will truly be worth it.
