Arman's stuff

Quick update to the Wobsite

Now with more readable usefulness!

I've made a fairly substantial change to the basic underpinnings of the Blag; it was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be, which is pretty much just awesome. It used to be that if you wrote a blag, you could access it with a link that looks like this:
http://blag.i-arman.com/?page=arman_123456789
For those of you less versed in all things web, here's what it's doing:
First, it redirects "http://blag.i-arman.com/" to "http://blag.i-arman.com/index.cgi", invisibly. Then, on the server, it executes index.cgi (which is a huge perl script). In that script, it grabs the variable "page=arman_123456789", and splits it into user=arman and page=123456789. Finally, it gets that blag from the database, slaps it into the webpage template, and sends it back to you.

Now, most of this doesn't matter to you. The vast majority of it is between hitting "go" and getting the page. However, if you just want to type a page in from memory, all that ?page= stuff is a bit odd. That, and some programs just don't like all the stuff on the end. So, I've changed the way it gets the variable on the end. The old links still work just fine, but now there's a new way to link to your blag! Now, the link looks like this:
http://blag.i-arman.com/i/arman/123456789
Much better! It has the same information, but it's easier for people to read, and a lot easier for computers to read. The same goes for pictures - instead of
http://blag.i-arman.com/pictures.cgi?page=arman_thumb_33
you use
http://blag.i-arman.com/p/arman/thumb/33

It might not seem like much, but the server-side switch-arounds were fairly impressive. As I said, though, this shouldn't really affect you at all - all the old links will keep working just fine. If you find one that doesn't work, let me know, and I'll fix it right away.
